Candidate for the position of Director
Affiliated with Coldwell Banker Conroy, Marable & Holleman
How long have you been a member of CAR?
I have been an active member of CAR for the past 3 years since becoming a licensed Realtor.
In the past 3 years, what have you done to improve your skills as a real estate professional?
Over the last 3 years I have taken advantage of the many educational opportunities offered by CAR and TAR while earning several designations and certifications including the GRI, RCS-D (Real Estate Collaboration Specialist in Divorce and Elder Care), and the PSA certification.
What is your history of service to the association and its members (committees, events, etc.)?
I have served on the RPAC and Governmental Affairs Committees. I have served as Co-Chair and Chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee. During my time as Chair of the Governmental Affairs committee I met with (and represented the CAR membership) the Two Rivers Company in an effort to define the membership's role in the Clarksville Downtown Revitalization Efforts taking place. I have also participated and served as a Panelist in the CAR Governmental Debates.
Why do you serve at the association?
I have received such support from CAR and its membership in the past three years that I want to give back through serving on various committees and offering my support where its needed, in this case, by serving you all in this next term as a Board of Director.
Why do you want to be Director?
I would like the opportunity to provide the Association and its Membership with a listening ear and support over the next term. While our membership has grown to reach record numbers, the need for support is ever present. I believe that I bring to the table a strong desire to serve and lead if given the opportunity. I will listen to the voice of the active membership and act accordingly and in line with our current and future association/membership goals. As a Director, I believe I would have the opportunity to be a positive impact and motivator to our association as we continue to grow. Our CAR membership does a lot of great work and makes a huge impact in the Clarksville community and I want to make sure that our voice is being heard by the public and therefore building our value as Realtors and professionals.
What do you feel are your strongest attributes that you will bring to the table if elected?
As a recent graduate of the Tennessee Realtors A.R.E.A. Leadership Academy I had the opportunity during this year to collaborate with Realtors across the state of Tennessee in various leadership positions. Through that collaboration I was able to gain new perspectives and fresh ideas to bring back to our Association. Leadership skills and the perspectives of other leaders across Tennessee were just a few of the takeaways that I feel that our Association would benefit from and I would be honored to bring them to the table as one of your Board of Directors.
Any additional statement or information.
As a Realtor and member of CAR we each have an opportunity to serve our community and make a positive impact on the quality of life and livability of the Clarksville residents and surrounding areas. CAR gives us each a powerful platform and voice to reach our community and we need to use that platform and voice to be heard, make a positive impact in the community, and be the best we can be for ourselves, each other, and our community. It would be an honor to serve you all in this coming term as one of your Board of Directors. I ask for your vote and support in the coming election. Thank you.
