Candidate for the position of Director
Affiliated with Keystone Realty and Property Management
How long have you been a member of CAR?
I have been a member of CAR since November 2006.
In the past 3 years, what have you done to improve your skills as a real estate professional?
I have earned numerous designations and certifications including Military Relocation Certification. I became a broker in 2017 and have been awarded education awards from the association. I also was selected as one of 16 throughout the state to participate in the inaugural A.R.E.A Leadership Class given through the Tennessee Realtors.
I have gone through mediation training to serve the association as an Ombudsman and Mediator. I have participated in Realtor Day on the Hill to speak to our elected representatives and make sure they understand the issues that are important to Realtors and home owners.
What is your history of service to the association and its members (committees, events, etc.)?
I have served on Professional Development (Chair and Vice Chair), Ambassadors, Budget and Finance, Government Affairs, Leadership CAR, Helping Hands, Entertainment and Grievance. I have been an active participant in the debates offered at the association and have volunteered for a variety of subcommittees. I am currently in the process of bringing a chapter of a national organization to the Clarksville area.
Why do you serve at the association?
I serve at the association because as a member, I want to ensure that we are moving forward. I want to be an ambassador for our profession. I believe that starts by mentoring and leading our membership. By offering free education, staying up to date on the issues that affect us and the public, and developing new agents, our association can be the benchmark of how associations should represent their membership. Being an active member of the association also gives me the opportunity to meet fellow Realtors and build relationships with them.
Why do you want to be Director?
The most important reason for me is to have an active voice in how the association moves forward. Sometimes we become stagnant in our thinking especially when the association is a well-oiled machine. However, I also believe that with new board members comes new ideas. There is always room for improvement and change.
What do you feel are your strongest attributes that you will bring to the table if elected?
My strongest attributes are my excitement about my chosen profession and my leadership abilities. Everyone wants to own a home. It’s the American dream. As Realtors, we provide a service that helps a family achieve their dream. Is there anything more exciting than that?
I love to talk to Realtors about why they should be more active in the association and become leaders themselves. It’s important for us to take a role in making a difference in the association.
